Some of the existing facilities at Oaklands College campus are in urgent need of modernisation. With more than 3,000 16-to-18-year-olds studying during this academic year, redevelopment is essential if the College is to continue meeting the needs of the local community. Investment is needed to allow Oaklands to continue to deliver an evolving curriculum and associated provision prioritised in relation to social and economic regional need.
The College is not looking to expand – just bring the outdated facilities up to date – and the only way to generate the minimum funding required to achieve this is by making part of the site available for residential development.
